Course-Correcting Team Topologies at Workiva
Workiva had adopted Team Topologies, but the follow-through — the continuous correction the model depends on — had stalled. I led those corrections: realigning team boundaries and interactions to how the model intends, reducing cognitive load, and restoring flow. Merged separate frontend and backend enablement teams into a single unified enablement function, cutting handoffs and setting the wider org up for rapid iteration and deployment.
Established frontend and backend guilds for cross-team knowledge sharing, championed responsible AI adoption practices — scalable, environmentally conscious, and ethically grounded — and laid the groundwork for a new org-wide design system.
